If you're looking for a nice, CLEAN motel, Edge of the Woods Motel, at W7396 Frontage Road, New Lisbon, WI. - AND - SunRise Motel at N9695 SR 80, Necedah.
Room wasn't cleaned when we arrived. Sinks were dirty & gross, used cups were still sitting all over, shower paneling was cracked and had mold growing on it. Room had a musty, wet dog smell. Would NOT recommend staying here unless it's a HAVE TO.. Also several times the woman owner couldn't get our change amount correct & tried shorting us $25 once and $15 another. Very unsatisfactory "Inn"
I PERSONALLY HAVE stayed at both of these motels, and they are both VERY CLEAN, VERY FRIENDLY STAFF, AND A VERY RELAXING place to stay. I LOVE BOTH OF THESE PLACES AND THE OWNERS/OPERATORS.
The man and lady that run the motel, seemed like they had to force themselves to be polite to American guest. This is not only my insight on that, but a few other guests that I talked with during the short time I was there.
Cheap, friendly owners, jacuzzi suites available.
On August 19th I called this place to inquire about a room to stay in for the Los Dells music festival that was supposed to happen on Sept 2nd and 3rd. The man that I spoke with said their were plenty of rooms available for that particular weekend. I was pretty excited to find that they still had space especially since everywhere else I called was already sold out and fully booked. I told the man I'd like to book a room but before I'd give him my credit card info I wanted to know what the cancelation policy was in case I didn't end up going to the festival. He mentioned that as long as I called 7 days prior to the day I was supposed to stay there I wouldn't have to pay a cancelation fee. So I went ahead and booked a night. Soon after I went online and read reviews on this place. I was shocked when I began to read all the negative reviews. What did it for me was the pictures of roaches and bed bugs that infested the rooms. I called back within the hour to cancel the reservation. The man, whom I presume is the owner because he's the one whom always answers the phone, said that it was ok and that it was canceled. Although I never heard him get on a computer or hear the keyboard strokes like when I called an hour before to book. I thought it was strange but I had his word that it was cancelled and that was good enough for me. Fast forward to Sept 4th... I look at my bank statement and I noticed that I had a nights stay charge from Alaskan Motor Inn? "How was that possible if I cancelled", I thought to myself. Perhaps it was a mistake? So I called... the same man picked up. I informed him of the charge and asked if it was a mistake. He said it was NOT a mistake. I asked him how that was possible if I had cancelled! He argued that I had never called, never cancelled, and that he charged me for a night. We argued for about 10 minutes and ultimately he would not remove the charge. Overall he was very rude and very dishonest... not to mentioned he lied!! Very sketchy place with a crook for an owner. Be weary of this place. I'll be contacting the Better Business Bureau on the Alaskan Inn & Suites... people shouldn't be subjected to their unsanitary and dishonest practices.
Black mold in room.
This was the 100%, ABSOLUTE WORST AND COMPLETELY THE GROSSEST PLACE I've EVER rented!! I paid for a week, but checked out in the first night, at MY CHOICE!! There was pile of human feces on the bathroom floor, behind the commode, and a few smears on the wall, around the toilet paper roller. I was SO DISGUSTED by the place, I just wanted OUT!! IT HONESTLY AND TRULY WAS THAT BAD!!! IF it was possible to give a MINUS ZERO STARR rating, I DEFINITELY WOULD!!
